tasting notes
|
Intensely coloured deep cherry red. An aroma with hints of caramel, plums, blackberries, liquorice and tobacco, as well as tinges of Mediterranean scrub vegetation. On tasting it is full bodied and full of flavour with soft tannins and a lingering aftertaste, a genuine reflection of the terrain of its origins, the Priorato.
Meticulous care has been taken at every single stage of the wine-making process, right from the selection of grape types to the thick dark bottles, imported from France, to evoke the image of Cesca’s ancestor, the abbot Domènech, whom the wine is named after. Each grape variety is harvested separately. The grapes, selected from our oldest plots, and only certain bunches, are deemed to be of sufficient quality to be selected for this wine.
We recommend bringing this wine to a temperature of between 15°C and 18°C before opening and allowing it a little time to breathe before drinking.
