tasting notes
Has a deep ruby red colour, with garnet glints, and complex aromas of ripe red, crystallised fruits. Its meaty, powerful, fruity taste, with well-integrated fine wood tannins that give it a long, persistent taste that confirms its characteristics and the noble varieties used in its production, and also the area in which they are grown.

terroir
The structure of the land which rises up forming gentle slopes (“costers”) from 200 to 700 m in altitude is unlike the Priorat region, not due to its geography but rather to its geology. These soils are formed from the breaking up of the primary granite of the base. Here, the climate is colder and drier.

harvesting
When the fruit is slight over-ripe, which is necessary for producing this wine.
production
After traditional cultivation practices, the oldest vines are selected and fermented separately, in contact with their own skin, and stirred for 18 days.
aging
This red wine is aged in French and American oak casks for the necessary length of time. Then, after gently clarifying with egg white to attenuate the wood tannins, it acquires its particular “bouquet” after being aged in the bottle.
paring
Recommended as an accompaniment to red and white meats, poultry, game, roast lamb, pulses, casseroles, and cured and blue cheese.
serving
It is advisable to serve the wine at a temperature of between 15 and 17º C., after first uncorking and/or decanting it one hour before serving. Due to the natural elaboration techniques used, there may be light sedimentation.
Drink within three years in order to better appreciate the character, elegance and mineral elements that this region gives its wines.
