Our vineyards are planted in many different types of soils, …limestone, red clay, stoney clay and the well known licorella slate of Priorat. As we blend wines from different vineyards, the type of soil is not as important as the age of the vines and their behaviour during the growing cycle prior to harvest.
Terroir is not just a question of soil, but also of climate and altitude. Cingles Blaus vineyards are located at altitudes of between 575 and 650 meters, temperatures are lower, reducing thermic stress and allowing later harvesting than normal. In this area we achieve wines of fresh, floral and fruit-foward character
With Selecció or “Selection”, I am interested in doing just that, a blend of the best. I believe this wine expresses its terroir and the traditional varieties of Carignan and old Grenache. Selecció is a more terroir style of wine, more personal, more representative of traditional wines from the region, more complex, (aromas on the nose....it reminds me of....., the wine has depths of....), …for those who wish to deepen their knowledge and for connoisseurs
