Company

Celler Vell is a company engaged wholly in cava production, continuing a family tradition dating back to the turn of the century based on harvesting our own vineyards in Sant Sadurní d'Anoia.

The company was founded by Pere Estruch Casanovas in 1954 and his children now continue the work he began, enriched with over four decades of experience.

The characteristics of the soil combined with the region’s microclimate give even harvests for a fruity base wine ideal for cava production.

Celler Vell uses the traditional, artisanal, method, which includes:

• The manual selection of the best grapes from our vines.
• The individual clearing of the bottles in the rack.
• The manual removal of the sediment from each bottle.

This careful process and more than two years ageing in the cellars determine the quality of Celler Vell.

Location

Our winery is set on a beautiful hill in the heart of el Penedès, in the town of Sant Sadurní d’Anoia, the capital of Cava. Surrounded by vines, we produce and mature Celler Vell in a rigorously artisanal manner.

How to reach Celler Vell:  Take the road to Sant Quintí (towards Igualada), some 50 m before the petrol station on the left, there is a road that leads to the winery (a white warehouse at the end of the promontory).
